Hundreds of children and family members came together for the 3rd Annual Building Bridges Family Summit, connecting families with the people, programs, and resources that support students throughout the school year.

Families had the opportunity to meet principals and school staff, receive school supplies, and connect directly with services from across Del Norte County schools and the community. Transportation, nutrition services, Indian Education Programs & Supports, and numerous community partners were among the many resources available in one welcoming location.

More than simply preparing students for the start of a new school year, the Family Summit helps strengthen relationships between families, schools, and community partners. Families shared that having so many resources and people available in one place made it easier to ask questions, find support, and make connections.

The Building Bridges Family Summit reflects DNCOE’s commitment to bringing people together, strengthening family engagement, and helping ensure students and families have access to the support they need to thrive.
