Committee Information

The Citizens' Oversight Committee (COC) was created in 2009 as a requirement to the Measure A bond voted on by the citizens of Del Norte on November 4, 2008.   Measure A is a $24,986,390 school facilities bond that must be used in our community, cannot be used for operating salaries, and cannot be taken by the State.  For this type of bond, California law requires a board of at least 7 members to actively review and report on the proper expenditures of the taxpayer's money.  The Del Norte COC is currently comprised of 6 members, including one member who is active in a business organization representing the business community, a member who is active in a senior citizens' organization, a member of a bona fide taxpayers' organization, one member is a parent active in the Del Norte Unified School District PTSO, and two at-large community members.  Please see the links below for more information on the activities of the Citizens' Oversight Committee.

If you wish to serve on this important committee, please review the committee bylaws for more information about the committee’s role and responsibilities and complete the attached application.  Completed applications should be mailed, faxed, or emailed to the Assistant Superintendent’s Office at the Del Norte Unified School District.
