English as a Second Language (ESL)
ESL Course Outline
Classes are comprised of students at multiple skill levels. The focus is on listening and speaking skills. New vocabulary is introduced, and students practice reading and writing skills. Lessons are delivered by discussing aspects of the community and how to navigate daily life in the US. American culture and idioms are also used to help strengthen language comprehension and communication skills.
Beginning level. Focus on speaking, listening, and acquisition of new vocabulary. Grammar, sentence structure, and verb tenses are explored and understood through discussion about community activities such as shopping, going to the doctor, children in school, applying for jobs, and other common aspects of life in the United States.
